according to the kate spade website “after college in 1986, she took a job at mademoiselle magazine, leaving in 1991 with the title of senior fashion editor/head of accessories. while working at the magazine, kate realized that the market lacked stylish, practical handbags and so innocently began designing her own.”
of course she did. and she did a damn good job at it! her handbags are classic and inventive and i am happy to see her designing other products as well. she has a great sense of sophisticated bridal style.
